XL4015 5A DC-DC Step-Down Converter Module (CC/CV)
High-Efficiency Buck Regulator | Adjustable Voltage & Current | Battery Charger & LED Driver
The XL4015 CC/CV Step-Down Module is a highly powerful and versatile DC-DC buck converter capable of driving up to a 5A load with excellent efficiency. Equipped with dual multi-turn potentiometers, this board allows for precise, independent adjustment of both the Output Voltage and Output Current Limit.
Because it includes true constant-current adjustment, it functions beautifully not just as a standard power regulator, but also as a high-power LED driver or a multi-stage battery charger (for Lithium-Ion, LiFePO4, or Lead-Acid batteries).
????️ Key Features
• Dual Regulation Modes (CC/CV): Features independent tuning screws for adjusting both the voltage ceiling and the maximum current output limit.
• High Output Current: Delivers a continuous output current up to 4.5A (with adequate heat dissipation) and up to 5A peak.
• Onboard LED Indicators:
o CC/CV Indicator: Changes color/state to show whether the board is currently limiting voltage (CV mode) or capping current (CC mode).
o Charging Status Indicators: Ideal for battery charging setup; tells you when current is flowing to a battery and when the charging cycle is complete (charge termination indicator).
• High Efficiency: Operates at up to 96\% efficiency due to the high-frequency 180kHz switching architecture of the XL4015 IC.
• Solderless Terminals: Sturdy blue 2-pin screw blocks make incoming and outgoing wire connections simple and secure.

???? Pinout & Potentiometer Functions
Screw Terminals:
• IN+ / IN-: Connect your DC input power source ( 4V - 38V ).
• OUT+ / OUT-: Connect your target load, battery, or high-power LED array.
Potentiometer Identification (The Blue Trimpots):
1. Voltage Potentiometer (Typically closer to the Output terminal): Turn clockwise to increase the output voltage; counter-clockwise to decrease it.
2. Current Potentiometer (Typically closer to the Inductor/Input): Turn clockwise to increase the maximum allowed current cap; counter-clockwise to decrease the limit.
⚙️ How to Calibrate the Module
For Battery Charging or LED Driving:
1. Set the Voltage: Connect power to the Input. Use a multimeter to read the Output pins. Turn the Voltage Trimpot until you reach your target value (e.g., 4.2V for a standard Lithium-ion battery cell).
2. Set the Current Limit: Switch your multimeter to its 10A Current measurement mode. Place the meter leads directly across the OUT+ and OUT- terminals (creating a short circuit). Turn the Current Trimpot until the meter displays your desired safe maximum current limit (e.g., 1.5A).
3. Disconnect the Multimeter: Your module is now safely calibrated and ready to be wired directly to your battery or high-power LED setup.
⚠️ Important Safety Notes
• Step-Down Only: This module cannot boost voltage. Your input power source must always supply a higher voltage than your desired output.
• No Reverse Polarity Protection: Connecting your input power backwards will instantly destroy the XL4015 control IC. Always verify positive and negative leads before powering on.
• Thermal Management: If running the module continuously above 3.5A or 50 W , please adhere a small aluminum heatsink to the flat back of the XL4015 IC chip to prevent thermal throttling.
